Communication is critical but the right words can be hard to find.

I can help.

As a freelance writer, author, and blogger, playing with words is what I do.

For editors of magazines: I specialize in writing profiles about people and businesses. From CEOs to executive chefs to AHL coaches, I can help your audience learn more about what makes people tick. Sure, I get the facts, but my strength is finding out more—I ask the right mix of thoughtful, well-researched questions in order to bring a unique slant to each piece.

For businesses, schools, and non-profits: I’m your go-to-writer for turning industry jargon into easy-to-understand communications. Whether you need a brochure, newsletter, white paper, content marketing, employee benefits explanations that make sense, blog posts or web copy, I’ve got you covered.

My background?

I began my corporate writing in-house for The Travelers Insurance Company and McCaw Cellular/AT&T Wireless over 20 years ago and began freelancing in 2002. If you’ve ever read Employee Benefits brochures that were difficult to follow, I didn’t write them! Since then, I’ve written for industries as varied as home health care and school districts, but all my clients have one thing in common: the need to communicate well. That’s where I come in.

As a freelance magazine writer and blogger, research is my forte. I deliver relevant and timely articles that make people want to read more. I’ve written for consumer publications like ParentsChristian Parenting Today, Ernst & Young’s Reporting magazine, Thriving Family, West Michigan Woman, Teach & TravelGroups TodayAtlanta Parent, and Coulee Parenting Connection.  Online, I’ve been featured on sites like and and am a regular contributor to the Grand Rapids Convention and Visitors Bureau’s website,

Whether you need me to generate ideas and write new content or help developing your existing communications strategy, let’s talk. I’m thorough, professional, and love to meet a deadline.

Email me and let’s see how we can work together.
