Hip Mom’s Interview with Erin Krug

Erin is married to Conrad and they live in Idaho with their beautiful twins, Caleb and Aubrey.  The family is expecting another baby any day now!

How long have you been married?   6 years, 2 months, 23 days and counting!

How many children do you have?  We have 2 ½-year old twins, & one scheduled to arrive anyday

How do you enjoy spending time with family?  We take the kids to the park or go to garage sales and find new treasures.

What do you and your husband enjoy doing together?  B.K. (before kids) we did a lot of backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, mt. biking, etc.  Now, we try to go out to dinner once a month and we like to do our separate hobbies together in the same room while we chit chat.  I scrapbook, he practices his guitar or studies some new topic on the internet.

What is your favorite vacation spot?  Banff National Park.

Who is your favorite movie or TV star?  I used to love the show Alias, so I like to see what other roles Jennifer Garner can play, though I don’t think she is the best actress.

How about your favorite movie?  Hairspray, Juno, Across the Universe

What are three to five books that you’ll always keep on your shelf?  Can I rephrase the question?  The last 5 books I’ve read are: The Time Traveler’s Wife (well done time travel story), Water for Elephants (circus setting, very exciting), Mt. Vernon (story of George & Martha Washington), Waiting (memoirs of a career waitress), and currently Blue Like Jazz (a non-religious story of a man’s Christian spiritual journey – love it, everyone must read!).

What about favorite children’s books?  Anything by Sandra Boynton, also Never mail an Elephant.

How do you spend your days?  I’m a member of a MOMS Club that schedules a few fun activities a week such as a John Deere Tractor tour, music store tour, trip to zoo, princess party, play groups, etc.  On other days, we have learning play activities part of the day and of course I pop in a movie for the kids while I get work done around the house.

What’s a job you think you might have enjoyed doing, if you had pursued a different path?  Being a famous singer or public speaker.  Why?  I get a rush from being up on stage and I love to lose myself in the moment.

What do you feel truly passionate about in life?  Using every day for the next 18+/- years to prepare my children to be the best functioning, healthy, happy, independent adults they can be.  I also have strong convictions when it comes to being a good steward of the earth.  Reduce, Reuse & Recycle!

PC or Mac Lover?   Neither.
