Great Family Movies

Is it possible that my kids have seen every age-appropriate, as well one or two age-inappropriate, movies out there?  Wait.  No.  What I mean is this:  Have they seen every one of these worth seeing, even at a measly rent-from-Apple-TV at $4 a pop?

Last weekend, we, decided to watch a family movie.  Keep in mind that we have a bit of an age span between the boys, so while our eldest would love to howl away at Adam Sandler or watch an intense thriller, those aren’t acceptable choices for our whole family.  I suggested the remake of Freaky Friday which all 3 boys laughed at during the trailer, and possibly could fall into the not-entirely-appropriate for-our-youngest category.  But no.  I went upstairs to grab a drink, or take the dog out, or who knows what, and when I came back down, this was downloading…

For real?

Yep, for real.

Apparently, we, and by saying ‘we’ I am not actually including me, decided to rent Furry Vengeance.  I will just tell you now that I am sorry I cannot ever retrieve those 92 minutes of my life.  Also, I admit to having made one or more innuendos involving said title.  But if you’ve seen it, do you really blame me?

Two Blogs for the Price of One

So I’ve been trying really hard to be one of those bloggers who stays on topic, right?

I’ve been posting about ways kids learn through life, not just in school.  I posted about helping kids learn math, and the benefits of letting kids just play, and my not-surprisingly-popular tips for visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

But here’s what I’m discovering: Some days, I want to post funny photos of our puppy chasing our boys down the sledding hill.  Some days I feel like a tirade on how I feel about having the TV on 24-7 (or even 5-7).   So do I split the blog?  Do I write one about raising kids who love to learn and incorporating learning into your lifestyle and another than includes my thoughts on kids and media, or how fun it was to watch our boys ski together?  Huh.  Not likely.

Unless you have the magic cloning formula and you’re willing to share it with me, it’s just not possible.  There are no extra hours in my days for another blog.  There are barely enough hours to do the laundry.  So.  So.  I guess if you want to read about visiting Great Falls Park with kids, you’ll have to endure my family photos as well.

Hope that’s okay!
