This week is flying by, isn’t it?  It’s a bit of a blurry haze.

Baby, it’s also cold outside.  My kids love to roll around in that freezing snow, and I love to watch while I feel the warmth from the cozy fire and the hot cocoa in my mug.

When the boys come in, they want some hot cocoa, too.  If you visit me over at Midwest Parents today, you’ll see my recipes for  how to make homemade hot chocolate and the best sugar cookies ever.  And I’m warning you:  I do mean best ever!

Warm Holiday Traditions

To be clear, I’m talking about warm as in temperature…warm as in not outside in the frigid, blustery, cold that is the Midwest.

For a few fun, warm, ideas, see my post at Midwest Parents today, which includes an old recipe for homemade playdoh that we used for years when my kids were little.

Now I’m going to go light a fire!  (Okay, fine, I just turn on a fire here, but still.)

I’m not here, but I’m there…

As crazy weeks go, this one is right up there.  And I think the rest of the month will be worse, but for all good reasons.  I love being involved with my kids’ schools, I love, love, love coaching basketball, I love writing, editing, and editing again, I love that new appliances, counters, and carpet (long overdue carpet, my friends) are on their way, I love being with friends, working on projects, and reading good books.  But all of those things I love are eating away at my time this week.

So today, a little blog cheat.  I’m not here, but I’ve been busy elsewhere this week.  Click on over to read what I think is a great recipe for friendship, marriage and life, my ideas for roasted pumpkin seeds, or my paper mâché ruminations.
